Fracture Paintings

Fracture Paintings was an experimental series of printed artworks created by processing original photography and illustrations using auto texture-painting apps. The process involved digitally cutting and blending multiple layers of art until the desired look was achieved. Shadows and highlights were then digitally embossed to increase depth. Apps used include SketchClub, Paper, Tangled FX and Glaze. The artwork was printed on fine art canvas and stretched. The images below are selected artworks from this series. (2014–2018)

Trips & Dreams

Trips & Dreams was a series of printed artworks created from original photography of local subject matter that was processed using the Google Deep Dream neural network. Photographs were collaged together to create the initial compositions. Small blocks of the scenes were then “dreamed” and re-collaged back into the composition to create psychedelic landscapes. Apps used include Clone, Lightroom, Deep Dreamer and Photoshop. The artwork was printed on fine art canvas and stretched. The images below are selected artworks from this series. (2015–2017)

Urban Decay

These printed artworks originally started as photographs of urban decay – cement walls, stone tiles, peeling paint, etc. The photographs were digitally stacked and saturation levels were adjusted to reveal textural landscapes. The artwork was printed on fine art canvas and stretched. The images below are selected artworks from this series. (2013)

Rock Scapes

These printed artworks originally started as photographs of wet sidewalk stone pavers. The photographs were part of a 365 day art project (see below). The images were digitally stacked and saturation levels were adjusted to reveal textural landscapes. The artwork was printed on fine art canvas, stretched and framed. The images below are selected artworks from this series. (2011-2012)
